Xbox 360 To Have Extrenal HD DVD Drive - HOT!Posted on Wednesday, January 04, 2006 @ 09:14:52 pm E.S.T
While no launch dates or solid details were announced, Bill Gates did announce that the Xbox 360 would have an HD DVD drive - just not in the form that anyone expected. Rather than releasing a new, updated console, anyone will be able to purchase the external drive which will allow them to watch HD DVD movies on their Xbox 360.
Gates, however, did say it would enable gamers to play movies, not games. That's good news for both gamers who will be reluctant to purchase the drive, and developers who would be put in a tight spot. This move is obviously an attempt to counter Sony's consistent push of the Blu-Ray format.
